“Composition
Active ingredient: ibuprofen 200 mg
Excipients: corn starch, sodium starch glycolate, povidone, colloidal anhydrous silicon dioxide, talc, hydroxypropyl cellulose, gum arabic, sucrose, macrogol 6000, light magnesium carbonate, titanium dioxide.
Therapeutic indications
Pain of various origins and nature (headache, toothache, neuralgia, bone and joint and muscle pain, menstrual pain). Auxiliary agent in the symptomatic treatment of feverish and influenza-like conditions.
Dosage
Adults and adolescents over 12 years of age: 1-2 capsules two to three times a day.
Warning: do not take more than 6 capsules per day without consulting a doctor.
Elderly patients should adhere to the minimum dosages indicated above.
Side effects
Like all medicines, Moment can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them.
Skin reactions
Sometimes allergic skin rashes (erythema, itching, urticaria) may occur.
Bullous reactions, including Stevens-Johnson syndrome and toxic epidermal necrolysis (very rare).
Gastrointestinal effects
The most commonly observed adverse events are gastrointestinal in nature.
Gastric ulcers, perforation or gastrointestinal bleeding may occur, sometimes fatal, especially in the elderly (see “”Important to know that””).
The following cases have been reported after taking Moment: a feeling of heaviness in the stomach, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, flatulence, constipation, dyspepsia, abdominal pain, melena, bloody vomiting, ulcerative stomatitis, exacerbation of colitis and Crohn’s disease (see “”Important to know that””). Gastritis is observed less frequently.
Cardiovascular effects
Edema, hypertension and heart failure have been observed with NSAID treatment. Medicines such as Moment may be associated with a small increase in the risk of heart attack (“”myocardial infarction””) or stroke.
These phenomena usually tend to regress when treatment is discontinued.”
