indication

The medicine belongs to a class of medicines called “antifungals”. The active substance is fluconazole.
The preparation is used to treat infections caused by fungi. It can also be used to prevent Candida infections. Candida is a yeast and the most common cause of fungal infections.
Adult
Your doctor may prescribe this medicine to treat the following types of infections:
Cryptococcal meningitis – a fungal infection of the brain
Coccidioidomycosis – a disease of the bronchi and respiratory tract
Infections with Candida that are detectable in the blood, in body organs (e.g. heart, lungs) or in the urinary tract
Mucous thrush – infections of the lining of the mouth and throat and gingivitis
Genital thrush – infections of the vagina or penis
skin infections – e.g. B. athlete’s foot, ringworm, fungal infections in the groin area, nail fungus
In addition, you may receive the medicine for the following reasons:
to prevent recurrence of cryptococcal meningitis
to prevent recurrence of mucosal thrush
to reduce recurrence of vaginal thrush
to prevent infections caused by Candida (when your immune system is weak and not working properly)
Children and young people (0 to 17 years)
In children, this medicine may be prescribed to treat the following types of fungal infections:
Mucosal thrush – infection of the lining of the mouth and throat
Infections with Candida that are detectable in the blood, in body organs (e.g. heart, lungs) or in the urinary tract
Cryptococcal meningitis – a fungal infection of the brain

contraindication

The drug must not be taken
if you are allergic to fluconazole, other medicines you are taking for a fungal infection or any of the other ingredients of this medicine. Possible symptoms include itching, reddening of the skin and breathing problems.
if you are taking astemizole or terfenadine (antihistamine medicines used to treat allergies).
if you are taking cisapride (medicine for stomach problems).
if you are taking pimozide (a medicine used to treat mental illness).
if you are taking quinidine (medicine used to treat heart rhythm problems).
if you are taking erythromycin (an antibiotic used to treat infections).

Indikation

Das Arzneimittel gehört zur Arzneimittelklasse der so genannten „Antimykotika. Der Wirkstoff ist Fluconazol.
Das Präparat wird angewendet zur Behandlung von Infektionen, die durch Pilze verursacht sind. Es kann darüber hinaus auch zur Vorbeugung von Candida-Infektionen angewendet werden. Candida ist ein Hefepilz und der häufigste Erreger von Pilzinfektionen.
Erwachsene
Ihr Arzt kann Ihnen dieses Arzneimittel zur Behandlung der folgenden Arten von Infektionen verordnen:
Kryptokokkenmeningitis – eine Pilzinfektion des Gehirns
Kokzidioidomykose – eine Erkrankung der Bronchien und Atemwege
Infektionen mit Candida, die im Blut, in Körperorganen (z. B. Herz, Lunge) oder im Harntrakt nachweisbar sind
Schleimhautsoor – Infektionen der Mund- und Rachenschleimhaut und Zahnfleischentzündung
Genitalsoor – Infektionen der Scheide oder des Penis
Hautinfektionen – z. B. Fußpilz, Ringelflechte, Pilzinfektionen im Leistenbereich, Nagelpilz
Darüber hinaus können Sie das Arzneimittel aus den folgenden Gründen erhalten:
zur Vorbeugung von Rückfällen einer Kryptokokkenmeningitis
zur Vorbeugung von Rückfällen eines Schleimhautsoors
zur Verminderung von Rückfällen bei Scheidensoor
zur Vorbeugung von Infektionen durch Candida (wenn Ihr Immunsystem geschwächt ist und nicht richtig arbeitet)
Kinder und Jugendliche (0 bis 17 Jahre)
Bei Kindern kann dieses Arzneimittel zur Behandlung der folgenden Arten von Pilzinfektionen verordnet werden:

Kontraindikation

Das Arzneimittel darf nicht eingenommen werden,
wenn Sie allergisch gegen Fluconazol, andere Arzneimittel, die Sie gegen eine Pilzinfektion eingenommen haben, oder einen der sonstigen Bestandteile dieses Arzneimittels sind. Mögliche Beschwerden sind Juckreiz, Hautrötung und Atemprobleme.
wenn Sie Astemizol oder Terfenadin einnehmen (Arzneimittel aus der Gruppe der Antihistaminika, die bei Allergien eingesetzt werden).
wenn Sie Cisaprid einnehmen (Arzneimittel gegen Magenbeschwerden).
wenn Sie Pimozid einnehmen (Arzneimittel zur Behandlung psychischer Erkrankungen).
wenn Sie Chinidin einnehmen (Arzneimittel zur Behandlung von Herzrhythmusstörungen).
wenn Sie Erythromycin einnehmen (Antibiotikum zur Behandlung von Infektionen).
