Dosage
Adults: the recommended starting dose is 1 tablet (12.5 mg) taken 30 minutes before bedtime.
The dose can be increased to 25 mg (2 tablets) if the initial dose does not provide sufficient relief from insomnia symptoms.
Before taking doxylamine, make sure that there is enough time for sleep (8 hours) to avoid drowsiness the next morning.
In case of drowsiness during the day, it is recommended to take the dose earlier to ensure at least an 8-hour break from taking the medicine to waking up or, in the case of taking a dose of 25 mg, reduce the dose next time to 12.5 mg (1 tablet).
Do not take more than 2 tablets (25 mg) per day.
Patients with persistent sleep problems should consult a doctor.
The tablets should be swallowed half an hour before planned sleep, with an appropriate amount of fluid (e.g. a glass of water).
The medicine can be taken with or after food.
The score line on the tablet only facilitates breaking it for easier swallowing, not dividing it into equal doses.
The treatment should be as short as possible. Treatment usually lasts from a few days to one week. Dorminox® should not be used for longer than 7 days without consulting a doctor.
