Contraindications
Confirmed individual hypersensitivity to the components of the drug or substances chemically related. Generally contraindicated during pregnancy and breastfeeding.
Interactions
No interactions with other drugs have been described in the literature. However, valerian extracts may probably enhance the depressant effect on the central nervous system caused by other substances, such as barbiturates and chlorpromazine. It can be concluded that the simultaneous use with psychotropic drugs, barbiturates or strong sedatives is not recommended. The effect of valerian and lemon balm can be enhanced by alcohol; Therefore, it is not recommended to take Dormiplant and excessive doses of alcohol at the same time.
Side effects
Gastrointestinal disorders (e.g. nausea, abdominal cramps) may occur. The frequency is unknown.
Overdose
From the literature, which mainly examines experimental assessments on animals, no conclusions can be drawn about any symptoms of intoxication; however, a depressant effect on the central nervous system should probably be recognized.
Pregnancy and breastfeeding
There is no information in the literature about possible contraindications during pregnancy or breastfeeding; however, it is likely that these conditions have not been thoroughly investigated. Since there are no data to assess the safety profile of the combination of valerian and lemon balm in case of pregnancy, the use of Dormiplant is not recommended for pregnant and lactating women.
