“Composition
Active ingredients: Core: ketoprofen 25 mg Shell: sucralfate 200 mg
Excipients:
Core: lactose, carboxymethyl starch, povidone, magnesium stearate. Coating: corn starch, carboxymethyl starch, povidone, talc, magnesium stearate, cochineal red (E120).
An anti-inflammatory drug used for pain of various origins and nature, such as headache, toothache, neuralgia, muscle pain and menstrual pain.
Dosage
Adults and children over 15 years old: 1 tablet once or repeatedly 2-3 times a day for the most intense forms of pain. It is advisable to take the drug on a full stomach (with a glass of water). Do not exceed the recommended doses: Elderly patients should adhere to the minimum dosages indicated above. The duration of therapy should be limited to overcoming the pain episode. Undesirable effects can be minimized by using the lowest effective dose for the shortest period of time necessary to control symptoms
Contraindications
Ketodol is contraindicated in patients with a history of hypersensitivity reactions such as bronchospasm, asthma attacks, rhinitis, urticaria or other allergic-type reactions to ketoprofen, acetylsalicylic acid (ASA) or other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs).
Ketodol is also contraindicated in the following cases:
– hypersensitivity to the active substances or to any of the excipients
– undergoing intensive diuretic therapy;
– chronic dyspepsia;
– gastritis;
– severe renal failure;
– severe forms of liver failure (cirrhosis, severe hepatitis);
– porphyria, leukopenia and thrombocytopenia;
– subjects with active bleeding;
– hemorrhagic diathesis;
– persons with hemostasis disorders;
– severe heart failure;
– active peptic ulcer or history of gastrointestinal bleeding, ulceration or perforation;
– history of gastrointestinal bleeding or perforation resulting from previous NSAID therapy;
– do not prescribe during treatment with tetracycline antibiotics to avoid the formation of complex salts with inactivation of the antibiotic itself upon contact with sucralfate.
Ketodol is also contraindicated in the third trimester of pregnancy, during breastfeeding and in childhood.”
