Emla is a eutectic mixture of lidocaine 2.5% and prilocaine 2.5%, formulated as a cream that becomes liquid at body temperature. Applied to the skin under a dressing, it provides effective local anesthesia for procedures such as venipuncture, injections, minor dermatological or genital procedures, vaccine administration, superficial surgery, and cosmetic treatments .

🕒 How to Use

Apply 1–2 g per 10 cm², cover with occlusive dressing (e.g., transparent film), and leave for ≥ 60 minutes (2 hrs for dermal grafting) .

For genital skin: 1 g per 10 cm² for 15–60 minutes depending on procedure depth .

Remove cream and dressing before proceeding; anesthesia lasts for about 2 hours after removal

Active ingredients per 1 g of cream:
25 mg lidocaine
25 mg prilocaine
Other ingredients: macrogol glycerol hydroxystearate, carbomer 974 P, sodium hydroxide for pH adjustment, purified water.
Emla® cream allows easy and simple application to the areas to be treated. It is used for local anesthesia of the skin and mucous membranes in order to reduce pain.
Application
The action time of Emla® cream is 1-2 hours. The effect lasts for at least 2 hours. Please follow the instructions in the leaflet on the package.
The dosage for adults and adolescents over 12 years is 2 g of cream for small procedures and a maximum of 60 g for large areas of skin.
