• Intractum Hyperici Phytopharm is a traditional herbal medicine in the form of a reddish-brown liquid, the active ingredient of which is fresh St. John’s wort. It is used to relieve temporary states of nervous exhaustion. It is packed in a 100 ml colorless glass bottle with a cap with a flow limiter, which facilitates the application of the drug. The bottle with a polypropylene measuring cup is placed in a cardboard box.
• Indications:
  Temporary states of nervous exhaustion.
• Composition:
  Ethanol extract from fresh St. John’s wort – Hyperici herbae recentis intractum (1:1). Solvens ad extractionem ethanolum: 96% (v/v) – 100 ml. Ethanol content 52-62% (v/v).
• Action:
  Relieves depressive states.
• Dosage:
  Unless your doctor recommends otherwise:

Adults: take 5 ml of the preparation 4 times a day in a small amount of liquid, preferably water,
Recommended treatment time 4 weeks.

Contraindications:
Do not use in children and adolescents under 18 years of age.

Hypersensitivity to sunlight, especially in people with fair skin.

Antiviral therapy in the case of HIV infection,
Condition after organ transplantation.

• Storage:
  Intractum Hyperici Phytopharm should be stored in a place out of the sight of small children.
  The product should be stored at a temperature below 25 °C
  A precipitate may form during storage.

Adverse reactions:
Like any other medicine, Intractum Hyperici Phytopharm may cause adverse reactions, but not everyone experiences them.

Frequency unknown

The following may occur:
gastrointestinal disorders,

allergic skin reactions,

fatigue.

In people with light skin, phototoxic reactions such as:
skin burns,

headaches are possible after using the preparation.

Interactions:
Tell your doctor or pharmacist about all medicines you are currently taking, have recently taken, or are planning to take.

After using St. John’s wort preparations together with warfarin, cyclosporine, theophylline, digoxin:
substances contained in St. John’s wort extract (hypericin, hyperforin) may cause induction of drug-metabolizing enzymes (cytochrome P450 subunits: 1A2, 3A4 and 2C9), which may lead to:

lower plasma concentration,

weakened effect of other medicines used concurrently with St. John’s wort extracts.

During combined treatment of HIV infections with antiviral agents, St. John’s wort extracts cause:
a decrease in the concentration of protease inhibitors (e.g. indinavir) in plasma.

It is not recommended to use St. John’s wort together with antidepressants that inhibit serotonin reuptake without consulting a doctor.
Patients taking prescription drugs should consult a doctor or pharmacist before using St. John’s wort.

Warnings and precautions:
The medicine contains 52 – 62% (V/V) ethanol (alcohol), i.e. up to 2.5 g per dose, which corresponds to approximately 56 ml of beer and 27 ml of wine per dose.
The product is harmful to people with alcoholism.
The ethanol content in the preparation should be taken into account when using it in pregnant or breastfeeding women, children and in high-risk groups, such as patients with liver disease or epilepsy.

Sun exposure should be avoided while taking the preparation.
If symptoms do not subside after 14 days, contact your doctor.

Children and adolescents under 18 years of age:

The drug should not be used in children and adolescents under 18 years of age.

• Pregnancy, breastfeeding and effects on fertility:

Do not use during pregnancy and breastfeeding.
The effect of the drug on fertility has not been established.
Driving and operating machinery:

Intractum Hyperici Phytopharm contains ethanol.
Immediately after using the drug, ethanol can be detected by devices measuring alcohol in exhaled air.
Do not drive immediately after using the drug, a break of at least half an hour should be observed.
