L THYROXIN 50 HENNING 100 ST (Levothyroxin)

Please take the entire daily dose in the morning on an empty stomach, at least half an hour before breakfast, with plenty of liquid, preferably a glass of water. The active ingredient is better absorbed on an empty stomach than before or after a meal.
Children receive the entire daily dose at least half an hour before their first meal. You can also let the tablet dissolve in a small amount of water (10-15 ml) and administer the resulting mixture (it should be prepared fresh for each dose!) with a small amount of liquid (5-10 ml).
The medicine cannot be taken
if you are hypersensitive (allergic) to levothyroxine sodium or any other ingredient of this medicine,
if you have any of the following diseases or conditions mentioned:
untreated hyperthyroidism,
untreated adrenal weakness
untreated weakness of the pituitary gland (pituitary insufficiency), if this leads to weakness of the adrenal cortex requiring treatment,
fresh heart attack,
acute inflammation of the heart muscle (myocarditis),
acute inflammation of all layers of the heart wall (pancarditis).
If you are pregnant, you should not take the drug and a drug that suppresses hyperthyroidism (called antithyroid drugs) at the same time.
Before starting drug therapy, the following diseases or conditions must be excluded or treated:
cardiac ischemia,
Pain in the heart area with a feeling of pressure (angina pectoris),
High blood pressure,
Weakness of the pituitary gland and/or adrenal cortex,
the presence in the thyroid gland of areas that uncontrollably produce thyroid hormone (thyroid autonomy).
The drug is a medicine containing the thyroid hormone levothyroxine as an active substance. This has the same effect as the natural hormone.
You will receive medicine to replace the missing thyroid hormone and/or to relieve stress on the thyroid gland.
The medicine is applied.
to replace the missing hormone in any form of hypothyroidism,
to prevent the formation of a new goiter (enlargement of the thyroid gland) after surgery for goiter, if thyroid function is normal,
for the treatment of benign goiter (benign goiter) with normal thyroid function,
for concomitant therapy of hyperthyroidism, which is treated with thyrostatic drugs (drugs that suppress hyperthyroidism), after achieving normal metabolic status,
for malignant tumors of the thyroid gland, especially after surgery, to suppress the growth of new tumors and replenish the missing thyroid hormone.
