- Melatonin LEK-AM is a medicinal product indicated for use as an aid in the treatment of sleep disorders, e.g. those related to changing time zones or shift work. The drug is also effective in regulating circadian sleep and wakefulness disorders in blind people. The product is intended for adults.
- Composition
The active substance is melatonin (Melatoninum).
Excipients: microcrystalline cellulose 102, croscarmellose sodium, magnesium stearate, colloidal anhydrous silica.
One tablet contains 5 mg of melatonin.
- Dosage
This medicine should always be used exactly as described in the patient information leaflet or as directed by your doctor or pharmacist. If in doubt, consult your doctor or pharmacist.
For sleep disorders related to changing time zones: 2 mg to 3 mg of melatonin once daily, after dusk, starting on the first day of travel. Continue treatment for 2 to 3 more days after the end of the trip.
In circadian sleep-wake rhythm disorders associated with shift work, for example: 1 mg to 5 mg per day an hour before bedtime.
In circadian sleep-wake rhythm disorders in blind people, take 0.5 mg to 5 mg once a day, around 9:00-10:00 p.m.
This dosage also applies to long-term use of the drug. The effect of the drug in long-term treatment of circadian sleep-wake rhythm disorders is sometimes observed only after 2 weeks of taking the drug.
- Contraindications
Do not use in case of hypersensitivity to any of the ingredients of the preparation.
