Omacor contains highly purified polyunsaturated omega-3 fatty acids. Omacor belongs to the group of so-called cholesterol and triglyceride lowering agents.
Omacor is used to treat certain forms of high blood lipids (endogenous hypertriglyceridemia), when appropriate dietary measures alone are not enough.
Always take Omacor exactly as prescribed by your doctor.
Capsules should be swallowed with a glass of water.
Capsules should be taken with meals to avoid unwanted gastrointestinal reactions.
Dosage for the treatment of elevated blood lipids (high blood triglycerides or hypertriglyceridemia)
The usual daily dose recommended by your doctor is 2 capsules. If the effect is insufficient, your doctor may increase the dose to 4 capsules per day.
