- Pyrantelum Owix is an antiparasitic drug in the form of tablets for use in adults and children over 6 years of age. The active substance contained in the drug is pyrantel, which does not irritate the intestines or cause the worms to move. Pyrantelum Owix acts on the muscles of intestinal parasites, and the immobilized parasites are expelled from the intestine by peristaltic movements of the intestines.

The medicine is used depending on the patient’s body weight.
Patients weighing 17-28 kg: 1 tablet, 250 mg.
Patients weighing 29-39 kg: 1.5 tablets, 375 mg.
Patients weighing 40-50 kg: 2 tablets, 500 mg.
Patients weighing 51-62 kg: 2.5 tablets, 625 mg.
Patients weighing 63-75 kg: 3 tablets, 750 mg.
Adults weighing more than 75 kg: 4 tablets, 1000 mg.
The dose should be repeated two or three weeks after the first dose.
The medicine is taken orally during or after a meal with water.
Before swallowing, the tablet should be chewed or crushed very carefully. Patients with liver problems should consult a doctor before taking the drug. The doctor may recommend a lower dose, as the drug may adversely affect the liver. Parasitological control tests should be performed 14 days after the end of treatment.
