Indications: reduces the patient’s subjective complaints such as: lack of appetite, feeling of pressure in the right upper abdomen caused by liver damage as a result of an incorrect diet, the action of toxic substances or in the course of hepatitis.

Action: Essentiale Forte is a herbal medicine used in liver diseases. It contains essential phospholipids (Phospholipidum essentiale), which are glycerol esters of cholinephosphoric acid and unsaturated fatty acids: linoleic, linolenic and oleic. Due to the content of polyunsaturated fatty acids in the side chains, these phospholipids cannot be synthesized in the body. Phospholipids contained in Essentiale Forte, after reaching the liver, are built into the membranes of liver cells. This results in the replenishment of existing losses resulting from the disease process and faster regeneration of damaged liver cells. Phospholipids are essential in the process of differentiation and proliferation of liver cells. They inhibit fibrosis processes in the liver by reducing collagen production and increasing the activity of the enzyme that breaks it down – collagenase.

Dosage: adults and children over 12 years: 2 capsules 3 times a day. There is no sufficient data on the use of Essentiale Forte in children under 12 years of age. Therefore, Essentiale Forte should not be used in children under 12 years of age. The capsules should be taken during meals, without chewing (with a drink, e.g. a glass of water). The duration of therapy is not limited

Composition: 1 capsule contains: active substance: soybean phospholipids 300mg, containing 3-sn-phosphatidylcholine. Other ingredients: refined soybean oil, hydrogenated castor oil, hydrogenated vegetable glycerides (Witepsol W 35), triglycerides of higher fatty acids (Witepsol S 55), ethanol, ethyl vanillin, p-methoxyacetophenone, alpha-tocopherol. Shell: gelatin, yellow iron oxide (E 172), black iron oxide (E 172), red iron oxide (E 172), titanium dioxide (E 171), sodium lauryl sulfate, purified water.

Contraindications: allergy to the active substance, soy, peanuts or any of the other ingredients of this medicine.

Warnings and precautions: Talk to your doctor or pharmacist before using Essentiale Forte. Due to the content of soybean oil, the medicine may cause severe allergic reactions. Do not use in case of known hypersensitivity to peanuts or soy. The medicine contains small amounts of ethanol (alcohol), less than 100 mg per 1 capsule. 

Interactions with other medicines: tell your doctor or pharmacist about all medicines you are taking, have recently taken or are planning to take. Before taking the medicine together with anticoagulants, consult your doctor. The capsules should be taken during meals, without chewing (with a drink, e.g. a glass of water)
