Potassium-U preservative-free eye drops are an isotonic eyewash solution containing potassium iodide. It is intended for instillation into the eye. Potassium iodide works by scavenging free oxygen radicals in the eye.
POTASSIUM-U, preservative-free, is an isotonic irrigating solution containing potassium iodide as an excipient. It is suitable for instillation into the eye. Potassium iodide acts as a scavenger of free oxygen radicals in the eye. These properties of potassium iodide are used to prevent and support the treatment of exudates (accumulations of tissue fluid) and bleeding in the eye.
This instillation solution is intended for instillation into the eyes, for eye rinses, or for use as eye compresses without consulting an ophthalmologist. The preservative-free ophthalmic instillation POTASSIUM-U with the excipient potassium iodide is used as a supportive treatment for various resorption processes in the eye (especially exudates, vitreous hemorrhages, and cataracts of various origins).
POTASSIUM-U Preservative-Free is suitable for adults, adolescents, and children. POTASSIUM-U Preservative-Free contains no preservatives, making it an ideal product for people with sensitive eyes.

Application
- Instill 2-4 drops into the conjunctival sac 1-2 times daily. The exact dosage and duration of treatment will be determined by your physician.
- Warnings : Temporary burning or stinging may occur immediately after application. Blurred vision may occur shortly after application to the eye, which may make it difficult to drive or operate machinery. For this reason, it is recommended to perform these activities 15 minutes after applying the product. After uncontrolled long-term use (in excessive doses), sensitive patients may experience what is known as “iodism”, manifested by irritation of the conjunctiva and its filling with blood, increased tear secretion, which may lead to edema of the conjunctiva eyelids (quincke’s edema) and edema of the lacrimal glands; skin redness, acne, dermatitis and purpura may occur. Consult a doctor in case of the above-mentioned side effects or any other unusual reactions.
