“Characteristics
Umbrex 50 is a cream with 50% lipostabilized urea. It is non-greasy and quickly absorbed. Its innovative formula provides a refreshing and softening effect.

Urea is an organic compound that, when applied topically, can have, depending on the concentration of application, a moisturizing or keratolytic effect. The moisturizing effect is achieved at low concentrations and is due to an increase in water binding sites at the level of the stratum corneum and a decrease in transepidermal water dispersion.

Instead, the keratoreductive and keratolytic effect is achieved at higher concentrations (30-50%), and the mechanism seems to be a change in the quaternary structure of the keratin of the stratum corneum due to the rupture of hydrogen bonds. Urea is thus able to denature and disperse keratin and thin the stratum corneum without damaging the skin barrier.

Ingredients
Contains 50% pure lipostabilized urea.

Directions for use
Apply 1 or 2 times daily after cleansing the area to be treated.”
