“Composition
Active ingredient: Tioconazole 28g. Excipients: undecylenic acid, ethyl acetate.
Method of administration and dosage
Apply to the infected nail and the periungual area twice a day, morning and evening, using an appropriate brush. The duration of treatment required to achieve recovery varies from patient to patient and depends on the infectious agent and the extent of the lesion. Usually, therapy can last up to 6 months on average, but
can be extended up to a year. Childhood: there is no data on safety and efficacy in children and adolescents. The solvent contained in the preparation dries in 5 minutes, leaving a thin, transparent, oily film. Even if this film is accidentally removed, this does not reduce the activity of the preparation, so there is no need to reapply it. It is advisable not to use an occlusive dressing.
Warnings
The use of topical products, especially with prolonged use, may cause sensitization phenomena.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to the active substance or to any of the listed excipients. Pregnancy and breastfeeding: although systemic absorption after topical application is insignificant, however, since the treatment of onychomycosis may continue for many months, use during pregnancy and breastfeeding is contraindicated.
Side effects
In very rare cases, mild and transient local irritation has been observed. However, if hypersensitivity reactions occur, treatment should be discontinued and appropriate therapy instituted.”
