Indications:
Anti-inflammatory and analgesic drug used for bone-joint and muscle pain in the course of rheumatoid and degenerative joint diseases. Used in the short-term treatment of exacerbations of rheumatoid diseases, such as rheumatoid arthritis, juvenile rheumatoid arthritis and ankylosing spondylitis.
Contraindications:
if you are allergic to meloxicam or any of the other ingredients of this medicine,
if you are in the last three months of pregnancy or breastfeeding,
if you are allergic to aspirin or other nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs),
if you have had any of the following symptoms after taking aspirin or other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs): wheezing, tightness in the chest, shortness of breath (asthma), nasal obstruction due to swelling of the nasal mucosa (nasal polyps), skin rash (hives), sudden swelling of the skin or mucous membranes, for example swelling around the eyes, face, lips, mouth or throat, possibly making breathing difficult (angioedema),
if you have had previous NSAID treatment with: stomach or intestinal bleeding, stomach or intestinal perforation,
if you have a peptic ulcer or bleeding from the stomach and/or duodenum,
if you have had a stomach ulcer and/or duodenal ulcer or bleeding from the gastrointestinal tract (peptic ulcer or bleeding that has occurred on at least two occasions),
if you have severe liver problems,
in non-dialysis patients with severe renal failure,
if you have recently had bleeding in your brain (cerebrovascular bleeding),
if you have had any other bleeding,
if you have severe heart failure.
