The anti-inflammatory properties of arnica are due to the active ingredient helenalin, which is able to inhibit the release of the transcription factor NF-kB, one of the main factors involved in immune mechanisms and inflammatory processes occurring in the body.
However, the analgesic effect can be attributed to both helenalin and dihydrogelalin.
