“Characteristics
Mycohera contains:
Urea: Urea has keratolytic properties, as it promotes the separation of dead superficial cells and, as a result, skin regeneration.
It can be used in various dosages from 3% to 40%. In concentrations below 10%, it is mainly used in cosmetic products with a moisturizing effect; in concentrations of about 20%, it is used as a keratolytic, and in doses above 40%, it helps remove calluses on the hands and feet.
Salicylic acid: an active ingredient with high keratolytic activity, as it is able to selectively break the protein chain of keratin, which is abundant in corneocytes. At the skin level, salicylic acid reduces the adhesion forces of corneocytes. This way, peeling of hyperpigmented keratinocytes is achieved and cell renewal is simultaneously stimulated. The final effect of salicylic acid is surprising: “”new”” keratinocytes, less rich in melanin pigment, give the skin a uniform, smooth and radiant appearance. It is also used for its bacteriostatic and soothing properties. In fact, it quickly penetrates into the inflamed areas, performing these functions without causing obvious irritation.
Piroctone olamine: Even in low concentrations, it has an important local antiseptic effect. With a high affinity for keratin-rich tissues, it complements the anti-inflammatory action of other active ingredients. The antimicrobial activity is due to its high affinity for trivalent metal cations, which leads to the inhibition of metal-dependent enzymes responsible for the degradation of peroxides inside the fungal cell.
Climbazole: Has an important local antifungal action of a wide spectrum. The antifungal effect is due to the inhibition of the synthesis of ergosterol, which is abundant in the plasma membranes of fungi, due to the inability to convert lanosterol into ergosterol.
