The medicine is a vitamin preparation. Treatment of neuropathies and cardiovascular diseases caused by vitamin B1 deficiency. Clinically confirmed vitamin B1 deficiency may occur in: Malnutrition and inadequate nutrition (eg, beriberi), long-term parenteral nutrition, zero diet, hemodialysis, malabsorption, chronic alcoholism (alcoholic toxic cardiomyopathy, Wernicke’s encephalopathy, Korsakoff’s syndrome), increased needs (eg, pregnancy and lactation), diabetes mellitus. Do not take this medicine if you are allergic to benfotiamine, thiamine (the chemical name for vitamin B1), or any of the other ingredients in this medicine. Always take this medicine exactly as described or as your doctor has told you. The recommended dose is 1 film-coated tablet once a day. The film-coated tablets are taken whole with a small amount of liquid. For the treatment of neuropathies, the preparation should initially be taken for at least 3 weeks. Further treatment will be carried out depending on the success of the therapy. The duration of administration depends on the effectiveness of the therapy. If after four weeks there is no effect or insufficient effect, the treatment of the symptoms should be reviewed. If you have the impression that the effect is too strong or too weak, consult a doctor or pharmacist. If you forget to take it, do not take a double dose to make up for the missed one. Try to take the medicine regularly in the future. If you stop taking the medicine, you risk the success of the treatment. If you are pregnant, this medicine is only useful for the treatment of proven vitamin B1 deficiency due to the amount of active substance in its composition. Therefore, you should use this product only if your doctor considers it absolutely necessary. During pregnancy, the recommended daily dose of vitamin B1 is 1.2 mg in the 2nd trimester and 1.3 mg in the 3rd trimester. The safety of using doses higher than the recommended daily dose has not yet been proven. If you are breastfeeding, this medicine is only useful for the treatment of proven vitamin B1 deficiency due to the amount of active substance in its composition. Therefore, you should use this product only if your doctor considers it absolutely necessary. During breastfeeding, the recommended daily dose of vitamin B1 is 1.3 mg. The safety of using doses higher than the recommended daily dose has not yet been proven. Vitamin B1 passes into breast milk.
