Indication:
The medicine is a urological drug.
It is used
When acidifying urine for therapeutic purposes:
Optimization of the action of antibiotics with an optimal effect in acidic urine (pH 4-6): e.g. ampicillin, carbenicillin, nalidixic acid, nitrofurans.
Prevention of new stone formation with phosphate stones (struvite, carbonate apatite, brushite).
Inhibition of bacterial growth.
Dosage:
Always take the medicine exactly as directed. If you are not sure, ask your doctor or pharmacist.
Unless otherwise prescribed by your doctor, the usual dose is:
1-2 tablets 3 times a day (equivalent to 0.5-1 g methionine 3 times a day).
In special cases, the dosage can be increased to 10 g / day for patients who are not at risk of developing acidosis.
The therapeutic goal is to achieve a urine pH of less than 6. It should be taken into account that the effect of the drug may occur only after 5 – 6 days.
Duration of use:
The duration of use depends solely on the therapeutic need.
Contraindications:
The medicine must not be taken
if you have hypersensitivity to the active ingredient or any of the other ingredients.

in renal failure
in oxalosis (increased deposition of calcium oxalate crystals in kidney tissue and/or other organs)
