indication
The preparation belongs to a group of medicines known as aromatase inhibitors. These medicines affect a substance called aromatase, which is needed to make female sex hormones (oestrogens), especially in women who have been through the menopause. Reducing the levels of estrogen in the body is one method used to treat hormone-dependent breast cancer.
The drug is indicated for the treatment of postmenopausal patients with early hormone-dependent breast cancer after 2-3 years of initial therapy with the active ingredient tamoxifen.
It is also indicated for the treatment of postmenopausal patients with advanced hormone-dependent breast cancer in whom other hormone treatments have not been effective enough.
contraindication
The drug must not be taken
if you are or have been allergic to exemestane (the active substance of the medicine) or any of the other ingredients of the medicine.
if you have not yet menopaused, i.e. if you are still having your monthly menstrual period.
if you are pregnant, may be pregnant or breastfeeding.
Dosage of AROMASIN
adults and elderly patients
Always take this medicine exactly as your doctor has told you. Check with your doctor if you are not sure.
Your doctor will tell you how to take the medicine and for how long.
The recommended dose is one 25 mg tablet per day.
If you go to the hospital while you are being treated with the medicine, tell the medical staff about the medicines you are taking.
Application in children
The medicine is not suitable for use in children.
If you take more than you should
If you accidentally take too many tablets, contact your doctor immediately or go to the nearest hospital outpatient clinic. Show them the packaging of the preparation.
If you forget to take a dose
Do not take a double dose to make up for the forgotten tablet. If you forget to take your tablet, take it as soon as you remember. If it is almost time for the next dose, take it at the usual time.
If you stop taking it
Even if you feel well, do not stop taking the tablets unless your doctor tells you to.

Indikation
Das Präparat gehört zu einer Gruppe von Arzneimitteln, die als Aromatasehemmer bekannt sind. Diese Arzneimittel beeinflussen eine Aromatase genannte Substanz, die zur Bildung der weiblichen Sexualhormone (Östrogene), besonders bei Frauen nach den Wechseljahren, benötigt wird. Die Reduzierung der Östrogenspiegel im Körper ist eine Methode, um hormonabhängigen Brustkrebs zu behandeln.
Das Arzneimittel ist angezeigt für die Behandlung von Patientinnen nach den Wechseljahren mit frühem, hormonabhängigen Brustkrebs nach einer 2 — 3 Jahre durchgeführten Anfangstherapie mit dem Wirkstoff Tamoxifen.
Es ist weiterhin angezeigt für die Behandlung von Patientinnen nach den Wechseljahren mit fortgeschrittenem, hormonabhängigen Brustkrebs, bei denen eine andere Hormonbehandlung nicht wirksam genug war.
Kontraindikation
Das Arzneimittel darf nicht eingenommen werden,
wenn Sie allergisch gegen Exemestan (den Wirkstoff des Präparates) oder einen der sonstigen Bestandteile des Arzneimittels sind oder waren.
wenn Sie die „Menopause noch nicht hinter sich haben, d. h., wenn Sie immer noch Ihre monatliche Regelblutung haben.
wenn Sie schwanger sind, möglicherweise schwanger sind oder stillen.
Dosierung von AROMASIN
Erwachsene und ältere Patientinnen
Nehmen Sie dieses Arzneimittel immer genau nach Absprache mit Ihrem Arzt ein. Fragen Sie bei Ihrem Arzt nach, wenn Sie sich nicht sicher sind.
Ihr Arzt wird Ihnen sagen, wie und für wie lange das Präparat einzunehmen ist.
Die empfohlene Dosis beträgt eine 25-mg-Tablette pro Tag.
Wenn Sie während der Behandlung mit dem Präparat ins Krankenhaus müssen, informieren Sie das medizinische Personal über die Arzneimittel, die Sie anwenden.
Anwendung bei Kindern
Das Arzneimittel ist nicht zur Anwendung bei Kindern geeignet.
Wenn Sie eine größere Menge eingenommen haben, als Sie sollten
Wenn Sie versehentlich zu viele Tabletten eingenommen haben, wenden Sie sich umgehend an Ihren Arzt oder suchen Sie die nächstliegende Krankenhaus-Ambulanz auf. Zeigen Sie dort die Packung des Präparates vor.
Wenn Sie die Einnahme vergessen haben
Nehmen Sie nicht die doppelte Dosis ein, wenn Sie die vorherige Tablette vergessen haben. Wenn Sie die Einnahme Ihrer Tablette vergessen haben, nehmen Sie sie, sobald Sie es bemerken. Wenn es bereits fast Zeit für die nächste Dosis ist, nehmen Sie diese zur üblichen Zeit ein.
Wenn Sie die Einnahme abbrechen
Brechen Sie, auch wenn Sie sich gut fühlen, die Einnahme der Tabletten nicht ab, außer Ihr Arzt hat es Ihnen gesagt.
