Pevaryl 1% is a solution for the treatment of external genital infections, indicated for vulvovaginal mycosis and mycotic balanitis.
Composition
100 ml of solution for the skin of the external genitalia contain the active ingredient: econazole 1.033 g.
Excipients
Polysorbate 20; benzyl alcohol; sorbitan monolaurate; sodium salt of 3,6,9-trioxadocosyl sulfate N-[2-hydroxyethyl]-N-[2-(laurylamino)ethyl]aminoacetic acid; macrogol 6000 distearate; lactic acid; perfume No. 4074; purified water.
Instructions for use
Clean the external genitalia with 10 ml (1 dose) of the solution dissolved in warm water. The treatment can be carried out once or twice a day.
The solution for the skin of the external genitalia can be used by both men and women.
Warnings
Products such as Pevaril 1% should not be used together with diaphragms or latex condoms. Patients using spermicides should consult their physician, as any topical vaginal treatment may render the spermicide inactive. Pevaril should not be used together with other products for internal or external genital treatment. If significant irritation or sensitization occurs, treatment should be discontinued. Patients sensitive to imidazoles may be sensitive to econazole nitrate.
Children (2-16 years): Safety and efficacy in children have not been established.
Elderly: There are insufficient data on the use of Pevaril in elderly patients over 65 years of age.
Contraindications
Pevaril is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to the active substance or any of the excipients.”
