- Luminastil is indicated for short-term use in occasional insomnia in adults.
Occasional insomnia may occur especially in the case of difficulty falling asleep, frequent nighttime awakenings, early morning awakenings related to stress or time zone changes.
Each tablet contains 50 mg of diphenhydramine hydrochloride.
Diphenhydramine shortens the time it takes to fall asleep and increases the depth and quality of sleep. The effect occurs after 15 minutes of taking the tablet.
- Dosage
Adults:
If necessary, 1 tablet 20 minutes before bedtime.
Treatment should be as short as possible.
Do not exceed the recommended dose and frequency of dosing.
Do not exceed the maximum daily dose of the drug: 1 tablet per day.
Do not take an additional tablet after waking up at night.
Composition
The active substance of the drug is diphenhydramine hydrochloride. Each tablet contains 50 mg of diphenhydramine hydrochloride.
- Other ingredients: lactose monohydrate, microcrystalline cellulose, corn starch, colloidal anhydrous silica, magnesium stearate.
Contraindications
This medicine should not be used: - if you are allergic to diphenhydramine hydrochloride or any of the other ingredients of this medicine,
if you have a scarring stomach ulcer (damage to the lining of the stomach or first part of the intestine),
if you have a blockage of the stomach or intestines (caused by, for example, a peptic ulcer),
if you have a tumour of the adrenal gland (known as a pheochromocytoma),
if you have a heart problem called QT prolongation,
if you have cardiovascular disease or a low heart rate,
if you have low levels of electrolytes in your blood (e.g. low potassium or magnesium),
if you are taking medicines for heart rhythm problems or medicines that may affect the heart rhythm,
if you have a family history of sudden death due to heart problems.
Precautions
You should stop taking this medicine if you experience any symptoms or signs of heart rhythm problems.
This medicine may affect the results of allergy tests; You should not take this medicine for at least 3 days before these tests.
This medicine should not be used in children and adolescents under 18 years of age.
Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking, have recently taken or might take any other medicines.
This medicine may increase the effects of some medicines.
You should not drink alcohol while taking this medicine.
If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, you should talk to your doctor before taking this medicine.
