Intended use:
Treatment of infections with anaerobic bacteria. Prevention of postoperative infections caused by anaerobic bacteria. Trichomoniasis of the genitourinary system in both women and men. Bacterial vaginosis. Amoebiasis (amoebiasis) and giardiasis. Acute ulcerative gingivitis, acute periodontal infections. Leg ulcers and pressure ulcers (anaerobic bacterial infections). In combination with other drugs to treat peptic ulcer with co-infection with Helicobacter pylori.
Dosage:
Orally. The dose and frequency of use is determined by the doctor. The tablets may be crushed to facilitate administration. Warning! You should not drink alcohol during treatment. Metronidazole increases the toxic effect of alcohol. The consumption of alcohol during treatment may cause unwanted reactions such as feeling hot, sweating, headache, nausea, vomiting, and upper abdominal pain. For the treatment to be effective and as safe as possible, follow the instructions of the treating physician. Familiarize yourself with the properties of the drug described in the leaflet before using it. Before using the drug, check the expiry date stated on the package (label). Do not use this medicine after the expiry date. Store the drug in a tightly closed container, out of the reach and sight of children, in accordance with the manufacturer’s requirements. This medicine has been prescribed by your doctor to treat a specific medical condition. It should not be transferred to other people or used in other circumstances without consulting a doctor.
Inform the doctor:
If you are hypersensitive to metronidazole or any of the excipients of the preparation, an active disease of the central nervous system, neurological disorders (numbness, tingling in the extremities or convulsions), liver function disorders. When taking other drugs with antifungal activity, anticoagulants, lithium preparations, antiallergic drugs, disulfiram, 5-fluorouracil, busulfan. In addition, you should inform your doctor about all recently taken medications, even those available without a prescription. When you are or think you are pregnant or breastfeeding. The drug is contraindicated in the first trimester of pregnancy. In the second and third trimesters of pregnancy, the drug can be used only in cases where, in the opinion of the doctor, the expected benefit to the mother outweighs the potential risk to the fetus. Do not use during breastfeeding. The drug is excreted into breast milk. If the drug is used, breastfeeding should be discontinued.

Wskazania do stosowania:
Leczenie zakazen bakteriami beztlenowymi. Zapobieganie zakazeniom pooperacyjnym, spowodowanym bakteriami beztlenowymi. Rzesistkowica ukladu moczowo-plciowego zarowno u kobiet jak i u mezczyzn. Bakteryjne zapalenie pochwy. Pelzakowica (ameboza) i lamblioza. Ostre wrzodziejace zapaleniu dziasel, ostrych zakazeniach okolozebowych. Owrzodzenia konczyn dolnych i odlezyny (zakazenia bakteriami beztlenowymi). W polaczeniu z innymi lekami w leczeniu wrzodu trawiennego z jednoczesnym zakazeniem Helicobacter pylori.
Dawkowanie:
Doustnie. Dawke i czestotliwosc stosowania ustala lekarz. Tabletki mozna rozkruszyc, aby ulatwic podanie. Uwaga! W trakcie leczenia nie nalezy pic alkoholu. Metronidazol nasila toksyczne dzialanie alkoholu. Spozycie alkoholu w czasie leczenia moze wywolac niepozadane reakcje, takie jak uczucie goraca, poty, bole glowy, nudnosci, wymioty, bole w nadbrzuszu. Aby leczenie bylo skuteczne i jak najbardziej bezpieczne nalezy przestrzegac zalecen lekarza prowadzacego. Zapoznaj sie z wlasciwosciami leku opisanymi w ulotce przed jego zastosowaniem. Przed zastosowaniem leku nalezy sprawdzic date waznosci podana na opakowaniu (etykiecie). Nie nalezy stosowac leku po terminie waznosci. Przechowuj lek w szczelnie zamknietym opakowaniu, w miejscu niedostepnym i niewidocznym dla dzieci, zgodnie z wymogami producenta. Lek ten zostal przepisany przez lekarza prowadzacego celem leczenia konkretnego schorzenia. Nie nalezy go odstepowac innym osobom ani uzywac w innych okolicznosciach bez konsultacji z lekarzem.
Poinformuj lekarza:
Gdy masz nadwrazliwosc na metronidazol lub jakakolwiek substancje pomocnicza preparatu, czynna chorobe osrodkowego ukladu nerwowego, zaburzenia neurologiczne (dretwienie, mrowienie konczyn lub drgawki), zaburzenia funkcji watroby. Gdy przyjmujesz inne leki o dzialaniu przeciwgrzybiczym, leki przeciwzakrzepowe, preparaty litu, leki przeciwalergiczne, disulfiram, 5-fluorouracyl, busulfan. Ponadto nalezy poinformowac lekarza o wszystkich ostatnio przyjmowanych lekach, nawet tych dostepnych bez recepty. Gdy jestes lub przypuszczasz, ze jestes w ciazy lub karmisz piersia. Lek przeciwwskazany jest w pierwszym trymestrze ciazy. W drugim i trzecim trymestrze ciazy lek moze byc stosowany jedynie w przypadkach, gdy w opinii lekarza oczekiwana korzysc dla matki przewyzsza potencjalne ryzyko dla plodu. Nie stosowac w okresie karmienia piersia. Lek wydzielany jest do mleka matki. W przypadku koniecznosci zastosowania leku nalezy przerwac karmienie piersia.
