• The medicine is a sequential combined hormone replacement therapy (HRT) taken every day without a break. It is used in postmenopausal women who have had their last period (menopause) for at least 6 months.
• The preparation contains 2 hormones, an estrogen (estradiol) and a progestogen (norethisterone acetate). The estradiol is identical to the estradiol produced in the woman’s ovaries and is classified as a natural estrogen. Norethisterone acetate is an artificial progestogen that works in a similar way to progesterone (corpus luteum hormone), another important female sex hormone.
