- Persen Forte is an over-the-counter herbal medicine used to calm and soothe in states of nervous tension and difficulty falling asleep.
Valerian root has a calming effect and improves the quality and length of sleep.
Lemon balm has a calming and carminative effect and is traditionally used in herbal calming and sleep-promoting preparations.
Mint leaves are traditionally used together with valerian root in herbal calming preparations.

Persen Forte is a traditional herbal medicine traditionally intended for use in mild states of nervous tension and difficulty falling asleep, resulting solely from its long-term use.
- Composition:
The active substances of the drug are dry extracts of valerian root (Valerianae extractum hydroalcoholicum siccum), lemon balm leaves (Melissae folia extractum siccum) and mint leaves (Menthae folia extractum siccum).
1 hard capsule contains: 87.5 mg of dry valerian root extract, 7.5 mg of dry lemon balm leaf extract, 17.5 mg of dry peppermint leaf extract. Excipients: Capsule content: magnesium oxide, lactose monohydrate, talc, colloidal anhydrous silica, magnesium stearate; Capsule shell: gelatin, red iron oxide (E172), yellow iron oxide (E172), titanium dioxide (E171).
Dosage:
Always use this medicine exactly as described in the package leaflet or as directed by your doctor or pharmacist. If in doubt, consult your doctor or pharmacist.
Adolescents over 12 years of age, adults and the elderly: 1-2 capsules two or three times a day, in states of nervous tension.
In cases of difficulty falling asleep, it is recommended to take 2 capsules 1/2 to 1 hour before going to bed. Up to 6 capsules can be taken per day. The capsules can be taken regardless of meals, with a small amount of water. If symptoms worsen or do not subside after 14 days of using the medicine, contact your doctor. The therapeutic effect is observed over a period of 2 to 4 weeks.
- Contraindications:
When not to use Persen Forte if you are allergic to the active substances (valerian root, lemon balm leaf, mint leaf), menthol or any of the other ingredients of this medicine.
Side effects:
Like all medicines, this medicine can cause side effects, although not everyone will experience them.
Valerian root products may cause gastrointestinal symptoms, such as nausea or abdominal cramps.
After taking peppermint, symptoms of gastroesophageal reflux, especially heartburn, may worsen. The frequency of these side effects is not known.

This medicine contains lactose – If you have been told by your doctor that you have an intolerance to some sugars, you should contact your doctor before taking this medicine.
