“The drug is intended for adults, for long-term treatment.

Compound
The active ingredient is ciclopirox.
1 g of varnish contains 80 mg of ciclopirox.
Excipients: isopropyl alcohol, methoxyethene polymer with 2-butenedioic acid monobutyl ester.

Dosage
Recommended dosage varies depending on duration of use. Treatment can be divided into several stages:
1) First month: apply varnish every other day to the affected nail – the stage of saturation of the nail with ciclopirox.
2) Second month: applying varnish can be limited to 2 times a week.
3) third month: use once a week.

Throughout the entire treatment period it is necessary:
– remove nail polish once a week using cosmetic remover. This is necessary to ensure proper penetration of the active substance into the nail plate.
– before applying the next layer of varnish, file the tile with a disposable file and then discard it.

If the varnish layer has been damaged, all gaps should be filled.

Directions for use: Wash your hands or feet with soap and water and dry with a disposable towel. Using a disposable file, carefully file the top layer of the nail plate to remove as much of the affected area as possible. Throw away the file. Wipe the plate with a cotton swab soaked in disinfectant. Apply the polish evenly to the affected nail plate.
The duration of treatment for mycosis depends on individual factors, the main of which are the growth rate of the nail plate and the degree of infection. In the case of hands, treatment lasts on average about 6 months, and in the case of legs – up to 12 months. Continue using the drug until a healthy nail grows back. The recommended treatment period for hands is at least 3 months, legs – 6 months.

Action
Ciclopirox contained in the drug is a synthetic derivative of pyridinone and has antifungal properties. The mechanism of action is associated with penetration through the nail plate and accumulation of the active substance in large quantities in the cells of pathogenic fungi, which leads to disruption of nutrient transport. As a result, fungal cells grow and decay.
Ciclopirox is active against dermatophytes, yeast-like fungi, molds and mixed fungi, including fungicides against Trichophyton rubrum, T. mentagrophytes, Epidermophyton floccosum (Acrothesium floccosum), Microsporum canis and Candida albicans (Monilia albicans).

Indications
Pirolam varnish is used for mild to moderate forms of fungal infection of the fingernails and toenails in adults, when no more than 4 nails out of 10 and no more than 50% are affected.

Contraindications
When the medicine should not be used:
if you are allergic to ciclopirox or any other ingredient of this medicine,
in patients under the age of 18 years.”
