“Compound
Active ingredient: metamizole sodium (Metamizolum natricum).
1 tablet contains metamizole sodium monohydrate 500 mg.
Excipients: potato starch, gelatin, magnesium stearate.

Dosage
The medicine is administered orally. The tablets should be taken with plenty of water during or after meals.
The dosage of Piralgin for adults and adolescents over 15 years of age (with a minimum body weight of 53 kg) for periodic pain and fever is from 1 tablet (500 mg) to 2 tablets (1000 mg). The maximum single dose is 2 tablets (metamizole 1000 mg), the maximum daily dose is 6 tablets (metamizole 3000 mg). You should not use the medicine for longer than 3-5 days without consulting a doctor.
The dosage of the drug should be adjusted in elderly patients, people with reduced creatinine clearance and people with impaired liver and kidney function.

Action
Piralgin contains metamizole sodium, which has an analgesic, antipyretic and antispasmodic effect on smooth muscles. Metamizole belongs to the non-opioid analgesics from the group of pyrazolone derivatives.

Indications
Piralgin is used for severe pain of various origins and fever, when the use of other drugs is contraindicated or ineffective.

Contraindications
Do not use Piralgin:
if you are allergic to metamizole, other pyrazolone and pyrazolidine derivatives (such as propyphenazone, phenazone or phenylbutazone) or any of the other ingredients of this medicine;
if you suffer from analgesic asthma syndrome or a known intolerance to pain medications such as urticaria, angioedema (swelling of the tongue, face, lips and/or throat), i.e. patients who react with bronchospasm or other anaphylactoid reaction to salicylates, paracetamol or other non-opioid pain relievers, including non-al anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs),
if you have problems with your bone marrow (for example, after taking medications that reduce your body’s immunity) or changes in your blood counts, such as a decrease in the total number of white blood cells (leukopenia) or a certain type of white blood cell
granulocytes (agranulocytosis) or anemia;
if you suffer from acute renal or liver failure, acute hepatic porphyria;
if you have congenital glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase deficiency (a rare hereditary disease);
if you are taking a drug from the group of pyrazolone and pyrazolidine derivatives (for example, phenylbutazone, propyphenazone);
if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.”
