frequent night awakenings
early morning awakenings - Composition
The active substance of the preparation is doxylamine, an ethanolamine derivative, a first-generation antihistamine for general use. Doxylamine blocks histamine H1 receptors. It also has significant cholinolytic (blocks muscarinic receptors) and antiemetic effects. It penetrates the blood-brain barrier and affects central H1 receptors, thereby causing a sedative effect. It has a depressing effect on the central nervous system. It effectively shortens the time needed to fall asleep, increases the depth of sleep and extends its duration. The onset of the sleep-inducing effect occurs within 30 minutes after taking the preparation. The sedative effect may persist throughout the next day. - Indications
