The drug is used for testosterone replacement therapy in adult men to treat various diseases caused by a lack of testosterone (male hypogonadism). This testosterone deficiency must be confirmed by two independent measurements of testosterone concentration in the blood. Certain clinical signs must also be present, including:
Sexual dysfunction (impotence)
Sterility (infertility)
Decreased sex drive
fatigue
depressed mood
Loss of bone substance due to low hormone concentrations.
The medicine cannot be used
with prostate cancer or suspected prostate cancer.
if you have breast cancer or suspected breast cancer in men.
if you have a known allergy (hypersensitivity) to testosterone, propylene glycol or any other component of the gel.
in women due to a possible masculinizing effect.
