The medicine reduces the production of the hormone dihydrotestosterone, which causes the prostate to contract again and relieve symptoms. It also reduces the risk of acute urinary retention and the need for surgery.
- The medicine can also be used together with the medicine tamsulosin (which is used to treat symptoms of prostate enlargement).
Dosage:
- Always take your medicine exactly as your doctor or pharmacist has told you. If you do not take it regularly, it may affect your PSA level monitoring. If you are unsure, consult your doctor or pharmacist.
- How much should you take?
- Recommended dose — 1 capsule (0.5 mg) once daily.
