It is used in the treatment of:
Allergic reactions, Allergic conjunctivitis, Urticaria, Fever, Rhinitis, Hay fever Therapeutic indications.
Prevention and treatment of the following diseases and conditions:
seasonal and year-round allergic rhinitis;
allergic conjunctivitis;
skin diseases of an allergic nature (including chronic idiopathic urticaria);
pseudoallergic reactions;
allergic reactions to insect bites.
Method of administration and dosage
Inside, with water or milk, can be taken with food.
If necessary, the tablet can be chewed.
Adults and children over 12 years old — 2 dosing spoons (10 ml) once a day; children from 2 to 12 years old weighing more than 30 kg — 2 dosing spoons (10 ml) once a day; weighing less than 30 kg — 1 dosing spoon (5 ml) once a day
For patients with impaired liver function, it is necessary to prescribe a reduced daily dose of the drug; adults and children weighing more than 30 kg, the dose is 10 mg (2 dosing spoons of suspension or 1 tablet) every other day.
For children under 12 years of age, it is recommended to use a suspension.
The duration of treatment depends on the duration of the symptoms of the disease. If the patient’s condition does not improve within 3 days after the start of treatment, then loratadine is ineffective.
Orally. The effervescent tablet is pre-dissolved in a glass of water (200 ml). The tablets should not be swallowed, chewed or sucked in the mouth.
For young children and adults with difficulty swallowing, it is recommended to use a syrup.
Children over 6 years old (weighing over 30 kg) and adults — 10 mg (2 measuring spoons — 10 ml) of syrup or 1 effervescent tablet once a day. Children 2–6 years old (weighing less than 30 kg) — 5 mg (1 measuring spoon — 5 ml) of syrup once a day.
Orally. Adults and children over 12 years old — 10 mg (1 tablet) once a day. The daily dose is 10 mg. Children 2 to 12 years old — 5 mg (1/2 tablet) once a day. The daily dose is 5 mg. Children weighing over 30 kg – 10 mg once a day. Daily dose – 10 mg.
Contraindications. hypersensitivity to any component of the tablets or suspension.
lactase deficiency, lactose intolerance, glucose-galactose malabsorption;
pregnancy;
lactation period;
children under 2 years of age (for suspension); 3 years (for tablets).
From the immune system: very rare – anaphylactic reactions.
From the nervous system: often – headache, drowsiness, increased nervous excitability, increased fatigue; uncommon – insomnia; very rare – dizziness.
From the cardiovascular system: very rare – tachycardia, increased heart rate, syncope, arrhythmia.
From the gastrointestinal tract: uncommon – increased appetite; very rare — nausea, dry mouth, gastritis.
From the liver and biliary tract: very rare — liver dysfunction.
From the skin: very rare — allergic reactions (rash), alopecia.
In addition to the above reactions, children may develop a sedative effect. Adverse events from the central nervous system (headache, drowsiness, increased fatigue) occurred with approximately the same frequency as when using a placebo (“”dummy””).
