• • The preparation is a medicine for hormone replacement therapy (HRT). It contains the female sex hormone estrogen. The medicine is used in women after the menopause whose last period was at least 6 months ago.
  • The medicine can also be used in women who have had their ovaries surgically removed, as this causes immediate menopause.
  • It is a spray that contains small amounts of the active ingredient estradiol. When sprayed onto the skin as described, the active ingredient passes through your skin into your bloodstream.
  • The spray is used for:
    • Relief from post-menopausal symptoms
      • During the menopause, a woman’s production of her own estrogen decreases. This can cause symptoms that manifest as hot flushes in the face, neck and chest area. The medicine relieves these symptoms that occur after the menopause. It will only be prescribed to you if your symptoms significantly affect your daily life.

      • There is limited experience in the treatment of women over 65 years of age.
