- Vivafarma ‘s Bactohealth offers 1.5 billion probiotic units in each capsule – live microorganisms that, in sufficient quantities, are of significant benefit to the health of the macroorganism. It has been proven that they displace and kill pathogens and modulate the immune response at the mucosal level. Lactobacilli are gram-positive, catalase-negative, non-spore-forming rods that dominate the vaginal flora. Large randomized studies have shown that, once in the colon, they migrate to the vagina and urinary tract, simultaneously influencing three levels – the vagina, urinary tract and gastrointestinal tract.
- The product is extremely suitable before conception and during pregnancy. It has been proven to affect asymptomatic bacteriuria, regulate vaginal pH and reduce the risk of infections. A randomized study also shows that vaginal probiotics reduce the risk of premature birth. They limit the development of group B streptococci – the most common causes of meningitis and neonatal sepsis.
