The medicine contains the active substance febuxostat and is used to treat gout, which is related to an excess of uric acid (urate) in the body. In some people, uric acid builds up in the blood and can reach levels so high that uric acid becomes insoluble. When this happens, urate crystals can form in and around your joints and kidneys. These crystals can suddenly cause severe pain, redness, warmth, and joint swelling (known as a gout attack). If left untreated, larger deposits of crystals called pituitary glands can form in and around the joints. These lumps can damage joints and bones.
The drug works by lowering the levels of uric acid in the blood. If you keep the uric acid concentration low by taking the medicine once a day, crystal formation is prevented and in this way a reduction in symptoms is achieved over time.
Keeping uric acid levels low for a long enough period of time can also cause the topless nodules to shrink.
120 mg tablets are also used to treat and prevent high levels of uric acid in the blood. These can occur when you start chemotherapy for blood cancers. Chemotherapy destroys cancer cells, causing blood levels of uric acid to rise if uric acid formation is not prevented.
The medicine is intended for adults.

The drug must not be taken
if you are allergic to febuxostat or any of the other ingredients of this medicine.
Dosage of Adenuric 80mg
Always take this medicine exactly as your doctor has told you. Check with your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure.
The usual dose is one tablet a day.
gout
Keep taking the medicine every day even if you don’t have a gout attack or flare-up.
Prevention and treatment of high uric acid concentrations in patients undergoing cancer chemotherapy
Start taking it two days before chemotherapy and continue as recommended by your doctor. The treatment is usually short-term.
If you take more than you should
If you accidentally take an overdose, contact your doctor or your nearest hospital casualty department.
If you forget to take a dose
If you forget to take the medicine, take it as soon as possible, unless the next dose is imminent. In this case, skip the forgotten tablet and take the next tablet at the usual time. Do not take a double dose to make up for a forgotten dose.
If you stop taking it
Do not stop taking the medicine without your doctor’s advice, even if you feel better. If you stop taking the medicine your uric acid levels may rise again and your symptoms may get worse because new urate crystals can form in and around your joints and kidneys.

Das Arzneimittel enthalt den Wirkstoff Febuxostat und wird zur Behandlung von Gicht angewendet, die mit einem Harnsaure (Urat)-Uberschuss im Korper zusammenhangt. Bei manchen Menschen hauft sich die Harnsaure im Blut an und kann Konzentrationen erreichen, die so hoch sind, dass Harnsaure unloslich wird. Wenn dies passiert, konnen sich in Ihren Gelenken und Nieren sowie deren Umgebung Uratkristalle bilden. Diese Kristalle konnen plotzlich schwere Schmerzen, Rotung, Warmegefuhl und Gelenkschwellung (bekannt als Gichtanfall) verursachen. Unbehandelt konnen sich gro?ere Kristallablagerungen, die als Gichtknoten bezeichnet werden, in den Gelenken und deren Umgebung bilden. Diese Gichtknoten konnen Gelenke und Knochen schadigen.
Das Praparat wirkt, indem es die Harnsaurekonzentration im Blut senkt. Wenn Sie die Harnsaurekonzentration durch die 1 x tagliche Einnahme des Arzneimittels niedrig halten, wird die Kristallbildung verhindert und auf diese Weise mit der Zeit eine Minderung der Beschwerden erreicht.
Wird die Harnsaurekonzentration uber eine ausreichend lange Zeit niedrig gehalten, kann dies auch ein Schrumpfen der Gichtknoten bewirken.
120 mg-Tabletten werden auch angewendet, um hohe Harnsaurekonzentrationen im Blut zu behandeln und ihnen vorzubeugen. Diese konnen auftreten, wenn Sie mit einer Chemotherapie gegen Blutkrebs beginnen. Bei einer Chemotherapie werden Krebszellen zerstort, woraufhin die Harnsaurekonzentration im Blut steigt, wenn die Bildung von Harnsaure nicht verhindert wird.
Das Arzneimittel ist fur Erwachsene bestimmt.

Kontraindikation

Das Arzneimittel darf nicht eingenommen werden,
wenn Sie allergisch gegen Febuxostat oder einen der sonstigen Bestandteile dieses Arzneimittels sind.

Nehmen Sie dieses Arzneimittel immer genau nach Absprache mit Ihrem Arzt ein. Fragen Sie bei Ihrem Arzt oder Apotheker nach, wenn Sie sich nicht sicher sind.
Die ubliche Dosis ist eine Tablette taglich.
Gicht
Fuhren Sie die tagliche Einnahme des Arzneimittels fort, auch wenn bei Ihnen kein Gichtanfall oder Gichtschub auftritt.
Vorbeugung und Behandlung hoher Harnsaurekonzentrationen bei Patienten unter Krebs-Chemotherapie
Beginnen Sie zwei Tage vor der Chemotherapie mit der Einnahme und fuhren Sie die Anwendung entsprechend der Empfehlung Ihres Arztes fort. In der Regel ist die Behandlung kurzzeitig.
Wenn Sie eine gro?ere Menge eingenommen haben als Sie sollten
Falls Sie unabsichtlich eine Uberdosis eingenommen haben, wenden Sie sich an Ihren Arzt oder an die Notaufnahme des nachstgelegenen Krankenhauses.
Wenn Sie die Einnahme vergessen haben
Wenn Sie die Einnahme des Arzneimittels vergessen haben, holen Sie diese schnellstmoglich nach, es sei denn die nachste Einnahme steht kurz bevor. In diesem Fall lassen Sie die vergessene Tablette aus und nehmen Sie die nachste Tablette zur gewohnten Zeit ein. Nehmen Sie nicht die doppelte Dosis ein, wenn Sie die vorherige Einnahme vergessen haben.
Wenn Sie die Einnahme abbrechen
Brechen Sie die Einnahme des Arzneimittels nicht ohne Anweisung Ihres Arztes ab, auch wenn Sie sich besser fuhlen. Wenn Sie die Einnahme des Arzneimittels abbrechen, kann Ihre Harnsaurekonzentration wieder ansteigen, und Ihre Beschwerden konnen sich verschlimmern, weil sich neue Uratkristalle in Ihren Gelenken und Nieren sowie deren Umgebung bilden konnen.
