SULMYCIN cream with CELESTAN-V is a combination preparation of an aminoglycoside antibiotic and a glucocorticoid for use on the skin.

SULMYCIN cream with CELESTAN-V is used for:

Skin diseases responsive to glucocorticoid treatment with bacterial superinfection for which gentamicin is indicated.

SULMYCIN cream with CELESTAN-V is primarily intended for use in oily skin, weeping, itchy, burning and seborrheic skin diseases, in body folds, in the acute stage.

2. What should you consider before using SULMYCIN cream with CELESTAN-V?

SULMYCIN cream with CELESTAN-V must not be used

if you are allergic (hypersensitive) to the active substances betamethasone valerate, gentamicin sulfate, the other ingredient chlorocresol or any of the other ingredients of this medicine (listed in section 6),

if you are hypersensitive to other active substances from the group of glucocorticoids or aminoglycoside antibiotics,

if you have a skin disease primarily caused by bacteria or viruses,

in the first trimester of pregnancy

if you suffer from viral infections, including vaccine reactions and chickenpox,

in tuberculosis or syphilis (syphilis) of the skin,

in viral infections of the skin (e.g. herpes simplex, herpes zoster),

for facial erythema (rosacea) and rosacea-like skin inflammation,

in skin fungal diseases,

with simultaneous internal use of antibiotics from the group of aminoglycosides because of the risk of harmful amounts of the antibiotic in the blood,

with advanced renal dysfunction,

in infants and young children under the age of 1 year.

Do not use SULMYCIN cream with CELESTAN-V on the eyes or mucous membranes. SULMYCIN cream with CELESTAN-V should not be used in the ear canal.

Long-term treatment, application to large areas of skin and/or treatment under occlusive dressings should be avoided due to possible drug absorption.

2. Was sollten Sie vor der Anwendung von SULMYCIN Creme mit CELESTAN-V beachten?

SULMYCIN Creme mit CELESTAN-V darf nicht angewendet werden,

wenn Sie allergisch (überempfindlich) gegen die Wirkstoffe Betamethasonvalerat, Gentamicinsulfat, den sonstigen Bestandteil Chlorocresol oder einen der in Abschnitt 6 genannten sonstigen Bestandteile dieses Arzneimittels sind,

wenn Sie überempfindlich gegen andere Wirkstoffe aus der Gruppe der Glukokortikoide oder Aminoglykosid-Antibiotika sind,

wenn eine in erster Linie durch Bakterien oder Viren verursachte Hauterkrankung vorliegt,

im ersten Drittel der Schwangerschaft,

wenn Sie an viralen Infekten, einschließlich Impfreaktionen und Windpocken, leiden,

bei Tuberkulose oder Syphilis (Lues) der Haut,

bei Virusinfektionen der Haut (z. B. Herpes simplex, Herpes zoster),

bei Gesichtsrose (Rosacea) und Rosacea-artiger Hautentzündung,

bei Hautpilzerkrankungen,

bei gleichzeitiger innerlicher Anwendung von Antibiotika aus der Gruppe der Aminoglykoside wegen der Gefahr gesundheitsschädigender Mengen des Antibiotikums im Blut,

bei fortgeschrittener Nierenfunktionsstörung,

bei Säuglingen und Kleinkindern unter 1 Jahr.

Wenden Sie SULMYCIN Creme mit CELESTAN-V nicht am Auge und auf den Schleimhäuten an. SULMYCIN Creme mit CELESTAN-V soll nicht im Gehörgang angewendet werden.

Wegen einer möglichen Wirkstoffresorption sollte eine Langzeitbehandlung, eine Anwendung auf großen Hautflächen und/oder eine Behandlung unter Okklusivverband vermieden werden.
