Dosage
Always take Visanne exactly as your doctor has told you. Check with your doctor or pharmacist if you are unsure.
Visanne medicine is administered orally, it is usually 1 tablet a day. Treatment with this medicine can be started on any day of the cycle, preferably at the same time as possible with a sufficient amount of fluid. The next pack is started without any gap between packs; tablets are also used during bleeding.
Avoid consuming grapefruit and grapefruit products (e.g. juice) while using Visanne – the ingredients contained in this fruit may adversely affect the metabolism of this drug (risk of increased concentration) – the side effects may be increased.
Action
Visanne relieves the symptoms of endometriosis (pain symptoms caused by an improperly positioned lining of the womb). The basis of this action is the reduction of endogenous estradiol production.

Treatment of endometriosis.
Contraindications
Visanne should not be used in case of hypersensitivity to the active substance of any of the other ingredients of this medicine. Contraindication is also: presence of a blood clot, severe arterial disease, diseases of the cardiovascular system (heart attack, heart disease), diabetes with blood vessel damage, severe liver disease, liver tumor (benign / malignant), hormone-dependent malignant tumor (e.g. cancer a tumor of the reproductive organs), vaginal bleeding of unknown etiology.
Side effects
Like all medicines, this medicine can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them.
Side effects may occur especially in the first months of using this medicine and usually disappear with treatment.
There may also be changes in the bleeding pattern, such as spotting, irregular bleeding, or no periods at all.

Lek Visanne należy zawsze zażywać zgodnie z zaleceniami lekarza. W przypadku wątpliwości należy ponownie skontaktować się z lekarzem lub farmaceutą.
Visanne lek stosuje się doustnie, jest to zwykle 1 tabletka na dobę. Leczenie tym lekiem można rozpocząć w każdym dniu cyklu, najlepiej o stałej porze, z odpowiednią ilością płynu. Kolejne opakowanie rozpoczyna się bez stosowania przerwy pomiędzy opakowaniami; tabletki stosuje się również w czasie krwawienia.
Podczas stosowania leku Visanne należy unikać spożywania grejpfrutów i jego przetworów (np. soku) – składniki zawarte w tym owocu mogą niekorzystnie wpływać na metabolizm tego leku (ryzyko wzrostu stężenia) – może dojść do nasilenia działań niepożądanych.
Działanie
Visanne łagodzi objawy endometriozy (objawy bólowe spowodowane przez niewłaściwie umiejscowioną błonę śluzową macicy). Podstawą tego działania jest zmniejszenie endogennej produkcji estradiolu.

Przeciwwskazania
Lek Visanne nie powinien być stosowany w przypadku nadwrażliwości na substancję czynną, którykolwiek z pozostałych składników tego leku. Przeciwwskazaniem jest również: obecność zakrzepu krwi, ciężka choroba tętnic, choroby układu sercowo-naczyniowego (atak serca, choroba serca), cukrzyca z uszkodzeniem naczyń krwionośnych, ciężka choroba wątroby, guz wątroby (łagodny / złośliwy), złośliwy guz hormonozależny (np. rak piersi, guz narządów rodnych), krwawienie z pochwy o nieznanej etiologii.
Działania niepożądane
Jak każdy lek, lek ten może powodować działania niepożądane, chociaż nie u każdego one wystąpią.
Skutki uboczne mogą wystąpić szczególnie w pierwszych miesiącach stosowania tego leku, zwykle ustępują w trakcie leczenia.
Mogą również wystąpić zmiany profilu krwawienia, takie jak plamienia, nieregularne krwawienie lub miesiączka może w ogóle nie wystąpić.
