The Valused medicine is traditionally used as a sedative and sleep-inducing medicine.
- Composition:
The active substances of the medicine are: dry extract of valerian root, dry extract of hop cones, dry extract of passionflower herb.
1 capsule contains:
60 mg of dry extract of valerian root (Valeriana officinalis, radix), including 99-100% of native extract (DER 3-4: 1), extractant: ethanol 60% V/V;
40 mg of dry extract of hop cones (Humulus lupulus, flos), including 69.5-100% of native extract (DER 5: 1), extractant: methanol 30% V/V;
40 mg of dry extract of passionflower herb (Passiflora incarnata, herba), including 25-50% of natural extract (DER 2.7:1), extractant: ethanol 90% V/V.
excipients: colloidal anhydrous silica, maltodextrin, anhydrous glucose, refined soybean oil, soy lecithin, hydrated coconut oil, refined palm oil, yellow wax; gelatin capsule ingredients: porcine gelatin, glycerol, liquid sorbitol, non-crystallizing, titanium dioxide (E171), black iron oxide (E172), yellow iron oxide (E172).
- Indications:
The drug is traditionally used:
as a sedative to relieve symptoms in states of nervous tension, such as: rapid heartbeat under the influence of nervousness, nervous movements and hand tremors (shaking hands), gastric disorders on a nervous background, difficulties in concentrating on a nervous background,
in periodic difficulties in falling asleep on a nervous background.
The effectiveness of the product is based solely on long-term use and experience.
- Notes:
Do not use in children under 12 years of age.
The drug may impair psychomotor skills, reducing the ability to drive and operate machinery.
- Dosage:
This medicine should always be used exactly as described in the patient information leaflet, or as directed by your doctor, pharmacist or nurse. If in doubt, contact your doctor, pharmacist or nurse.
The medicine is administered orally.
Adults and adolescents over 12 years of age: The recommended dose is 2 capsules 2 to 3 times a day. If you have difficulty falling asleep, take 2 to 3 capsules once 1/2 hour before going to bed.
If there is no improvement after 2 weeks or if you feel worse, you should consult your doctor.
Using other medicines:
Tell your doctor or pharmacist about all medicines you are currently taking, have recently taken or are planning to take.
Do not use this medicine with other sedative medicines because the effect of the medicine may be intensified.
- Contraindications:
When not to use VALUSED:
if the patient is allergic to the active substances or any of the other ingredients of this medicine,
if valerian is intolerant,
in patients with rare hereditary fructose intolerance,
if hypersensitivity to peanuts or soya.
Side effects:
Like all medicines, this medicine can cause side effects, although not everyone will experience them.
The medicine is generally well tolerated at recommended doses. Gastrointestinal disorders have been observed in people who do not tolerate valerian root well.
In isolated cases, nausea and increased heart rate (tachycardia) have occurred after administration of passionflower herb.
Warnings:
VALUSED contains refined soybean oil. Do not use if you are allergic to peanuts or soy.
VALUSED contains sorbitol and glucose. If you have been told by your doctor that you have an intolerance to some sugars, you should contact your doctor before taking this medicine.
Taking during pregnancy:
If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, you should consult your doctor or pharmacist before taking this medicine.
Storage method:
Store at room temperature. Protect from light and moisture. Keep out of reach of small children.
