“Directions
SofarGen Gel is a water-based dressing for topical use containing silver sulfadiazine.
The gel with a high water content (over 95%) keeps the lesion hydrated, promoting the tissue repair process, creates a barrier to external agents, protecting the damaged skin due to the presence of silver.
It also promotes the debridement of necrotic lesions.
The presence of silver sulfadiazine, an organometallic compound obtained by the reaction of silver nitrate with sulfadiazine, prevents microbial seeding of the dressing and protects the wound environment from other exogenous bacteria.
The special formula of SofarGen gel creates an environment that facilitates the natural healing process and provides an effective barrier to the penetration of microbes.
The product easily remains “”in place”” and is not subject to stretching of the wound edges.
It can be easily removed by cleaning the affected area with a saline solution.
Directions for use
After proper cleansing of the lesion, apply a uniform layer of SofarGen gel 2 or 3 mm thick to the affected areas. The gel can be applied either directly to the lesions, or pre-applied to sterile gauze for a moisturizing effect, or to a polyurethane or semi-occlusive dressing as a cleansing agent.
SofarGen Gel is also an effective replacement for the most commonly used hydrogels.
Ingredients
Purified water, glycerin, carbopol 974P, sodium hydroxide, micronized silver sulfadiazine.”
