Dosage:
The recommended dose is:
Children 12 years and older*
Single dose: 1 chewable tablet.
Total daily dose: up to 3 chewable tablets.
Youth and adults
Single dose: 1–2 chewable tablets.
Total daily dose: 3-6 chewable tablets.
* Acetylsalicylic acid should be used in children and adolescents under 12 years of age only on the advice of a doctor. Please note the information for children and adolescents (see the section “”Children and adolescents”” in the category “”Information for patients””).
Patients with impaired liver function and patients with impaired renal function
Acetylsalicylic acid should be used with caution in patients with impaired liver and kidney function. Please note the information for these patients (see the category “”Information for patients””).
Duration of use:
If necessary, a single dose can be taken at intervals of 4 to 8 hours up to 3 times a day.
However, the total daily dose should not be exceeded.
Do not take this medicine for more than 4 days.
Contraindications:
The medicine should not be taken
if you are allergic to acetylsalicylic acid, other salicylates or any of the other ingredients;
if you have had asthma attacks or other hypersensitivity reactions to certain medicines for pain, fever or inflammation (salicylates or other non-al anti-inflammatory drugs);
if you have acute ulcers of the stomach and intestines;
if you have an abnormally increased tendency to bleed;
if you have liver or kidney failure;
if you have severe weakness of the heart muscle (heart failure) that does not respond to drug treatment;
if you are also taking methotrexate at a dose of 15 mg or more per week;
in the last 3 months of pregnancy.”
