In addition, the active ingredient relieves the urge to cough in a very dry cough. In doing so, it blocks the so-called cough center in the brain, which reduces the number and severity of coughing attacks. This effect is supported by a thickening of the mucus in the airways. To prevent mucus from building up in the respiratory tract, the substance is only suitable if the cough is completely dry. If you overdose on the substance, you run the risk of provoking a blockage in the airways or finding it difficult to breathe.

Dosing of DHC 60 MUNDIPHARMA prolonged-release tablets

In consultation with your doctor, depending on the stage of
Treatment, the drug is usually dosed as follows:

Adolescents from 16 years and adults

Single dose: 1 tablet
Total dose: 2 times a day
Time: morning and evening at least 8 hours apart, regardless of the meal
Maximum dose: A dose of 4 tablets per day should not be exceeded.

Elderly and debilitated patients: You may need to reduce the single or total dose or increase the dosing interval in consultation with your doctor.

Patients with impaired liver or kidney function: You may need to reduce the individual or total dose or increase the dosing interval in consultation with your doctor.

Der Wirkstoff wirkt schmerzlindernd, indem er im Gehirn die Schmerzwahrnehmung und die Intensität der Schmerzempfindung herabsetzt.
Außerdem lindert der Wirkstoff den Hustenreiz bei einem sehr trockenen Husten. Dabei blockiert er im Gehirn das sog. Hustenzentrum, wodurch die Anzahl und Heftigkeit der Hustenstösse vermindert wird. Unterstützt wird diese Wirkung durch eine Eindickung des Schleimes in den Atemwegen. Damit sich kein Schleim in den Atemwegen staut, eignet sich die Substanz aber nur, wenn der Husten vollkommen trocken ist. Wer den Stoff überdosiert, läuft Gefahr, eine Verstopfung der Atemwege zu provozieren oder nur noch schwer atmen zu können.

Dosierung von DHC 60 MUNDIPHARMA Retardtabletten

In Absprache mit Ihrem Arzt, abhängig von dem Stadium der
Behandlung, wird das Arzneimittel in der Regel folgendermaßen dosiert:

Jugendliche ab 16 Jahren und Erwachsene

Einzeldosis: 1 Tablette
Gesamtdosis: 2-mal täglich
Zeitpunkt: morgens und abends im Abstand von mindestens 8 Stunden, unabhängig von der Mahlzeit
Höchstdosis: Eine Dosis von 4 Tabletten pro Tag sollte nicht überschritten werden.

Ältere und geschwächte Patienten: Sie müssen in Absprache mit Ihrem Arzt eventuell die Einzel- oder die Gesamtdosis reduzieren oder den Dosierungsabstand verlängern.

Patienten mit einer Leber- oder Nierenfunktionsstörung: Sie müssen in Absprache mit Ihrem Arzt eventuell die Einzel- oder die Gesamtdosis reduzieren oder den Dosierungsabstand verlängern.

Anwendungshinweise

Die Gesamtdosis sollte nicht ohne Rücksprache mit einem Arzt oder Apotheker überschritten werden.
