The medicine is a hormone replacement therapy (HRT) drug. It contains two different female sex hormones: estrogen (estradiol) and progestin (dydrogesterone). The drug is used in postmenopausal women whose last menstruation (menopause) was at least 6 months ago.
It is used for
Relief of postmenopausal symptoms
During menopause, a woman’s production of her own estrogen decreases. This can cause symptoms such as hot flashes in the face, neck, and chest (called hot flashes). Femoston relieves these symptoms that occur after menopause. You will only be prescribed medication if your symptoms significantly affect your daily life.
Prevention of osteoporosis
After menopause, some women’s bones may become brittle (osteoporosis). You should discuss all available treatment options with your doctor. You may use this medicine to prevent osteoporosis after menopause if you have an increased risk of osteoporosis-related bone fractures and other medicines are not suitable for you. This medicine should not be taken
if the following points apply to you. If you are unsure whether this is the case, consult your doctor before taking the product.
You should not take the medicine if:
You have, have had, or are suspected of having breast cancer.
You have a form of cancer that depends on estrogen to grow, for example. B. Cancer of the uterine mucosa (endometrium) or there is appropriate suspicion.
Bleeding from the vagina occurs, the cause of which is not clear.
Untreated excessive thickening of the lining of the uterus (endometrial hyperplasia).
You have or have previously had a blood clot in a vein (thrombosis), for example. B. in the legs (deep vein thrombosis) or in the lungs (pulmonary embolism)
You have a bleeding disorder (such as protein C deficiency, protein S deficiency, or antithrombin deficiency)

You have or have ever had liver disease and your liver function tests have not yet returned to normal.
You have a rare inherited blood disorder called porphyria.

If any of the above diseases occur for the first time while taking the drug, stop treatment immediately and consult a doctor immediately.
