The drug is a water pill (diuretic).
The medicine is used for:
Accumulation of fluid in the tissues (oedema) due to heart or liver disease
Accumulation of fluid in the tissue (oedema) as a result of kidney disease (in the case of nephrotic syndrome [protein loss, lipid metabolism disorder and water retention], the treatment of the underlying disease is the priority)
Accumulation of fluid in the tissue (oedema) as a result of burns
high blood pressure (arterial hypertension)
contraindication
The drug must not be taken
if you are allergic (hypersensitive) to furosemide, sulphonamides or any of the other ingredients
in kidney failure with lack of urine production (anuria)
in liver failure with impaired consciousness (coma and precoma hepaticum)
in severe potassium deficiencies
in severe sodium deficiencies
with reduced circulating blood volume (hypovolemia) or lack of body water (dehydration)
if you are breastfeeding
Dosing of furosemide
Always take the medicine exactly as your doctor has told you. Please check with your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure.
The dosage is determined individually, especially according to the success of the treatment, and you should not change it without your doctor’s instructions. The lowest dose that achieves the desired effect should always be used.

Accumulation of fluid in the tissues (oedema) as a result of heart or liver diseases:
As a rule, adults take 1 tablet once at the beginning (equivalent to 40 mg furosemide). If there is no satisfactory urination, the single dose can be doubled to 2 tablets (equivalent to 80 mg furosemide) after 6 hours. If urine excretion is still insufficient, another 4 tablets (corresponding to 160 mg furosemide) can be administered after a further 6 hours. If necessary, starting doses of more than 200 mg furosemide can be used in exceptional cases with careful clinical monitoring.
The daily maintenance dose is usually 1 to 2 tablets (equivalent to 40 – 80 mg furosemide).
Weight loss caused by increased urination should not exceed 1 kg/day.

Pokud lйkar nepredepнљe jinak, je obvyklб dбvka
Hromadenн tekutiny v tkбnнch (edйmy) v dusledku onemocnenн srdce nebo jater:
Dospelн uћнvajн zpravidla 1 tabletu na zacбtku 1x (odpovнdб 40 mg furosemidu). Pokud nedochбzн k uspokojivйmu mocenн, lze jednotlivou dбvku zdvojnбsobit na 2 tablety (odpovнdajнcн 80 mg furosemidu) po 6 hodinбch. Pokud je vylucovбnн mocн stбle nedostatecnй, lze po dalљнch 6 hodinбch podat dalљн 4 tablety (odpovнdajнcн 160 mg furosemidu). Pokud je to nutnй, lze ve vэjimecnэch prнpadech za peclivйho klinickйho sledovбnн pouћнt pocбtecnн dбvky vyљљн neћ 200 mg furosemidu.
Dennн udrћovacн dбvka je obvykle 1 aћ 2 tablety (odpovнdб 40 – 80 mg furosemidu).
Hubnutн zpusobenй zvэљenэm mocenнm by nemelo presбhnout 1 kg/den.
