The active ingredient of the drug is Tanninum albuminatum (tannin proteinate) – 500 mg per tablet.
Excipients: potato starch, sodium carboxymethyl starch, povidone, talc.
Dosage
Adults – 1-2 tablets orally 3 times a day.
Children over 4 years old – 2–3 times a day, 1/2–1 tablet.
After taking, squeeze the tablets out of the blister and drink with water. The drug should be taken between meals until symptoms disappear.
Action
Tanninal contains a combination of tannins – tannic acid (tannin) with protein – albumin. Thanks to this combination, the drug does not have a strong irritating effect on the gastric mucosa.
The drug releases tannins in the small intestine under the action of the digestive enzyme pancreatin. The released tannin has an astringent and bacteriostatic effect, and also has an antidiarrheal effect, forming poorly soluble complexes with bacterial toxins. Moreover, it stops minor bleeding when the capillaries of the intestinal mucosa are damaged.
