1. What is Ibuprofen Aurovitas and what is it used for

Ibuprofen Aurovitas is used to treat mild to moderate pain, such as headache, including migraine headache, toothache, muscle pain, bruising and post-traumatic pain and pain associated with flu-like conditions. It is also indicated for period pain (primary dysmenorrhea) and for treating fever lasting less than 3 days.

If you do not feel better or if you feel worse after 5 days in adults, or after 3 days in children, consult your doctor.

2. Important information before using Ibuprofen Aurovitas

When not to use Ibuprofen Aurovitas:

– if you are allergic to ibuprofen or any of the other ingredients of this medicine (listed in section 6).

– if you have had an allergic reaction such as asthma, runny nose, itchy skin rash or swelling of the lips, face, tongue or throat after taking medicines containing acetylsalicylic acid (such as aspirin) or other painkillers and anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs).

– if you have had bleeding or perforation of the digestive tract related to previous use of painkillers and anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs).

– if you have an ulcer or bleeding in the stomach or small intestine (duodenum) or if you have had two or more such episodes in the past.

– if you have severe liver, kidney or heart disease.

– if you are in the last 3 months of pregnancy.

– if you have severe dehydration (caused by vomiting, diarrhoea or insufficient fluid intake).

– if you have active bleeding (including in the brain).

– if you have a condition of unknown origin that causes abnormal blood cell formation.

Ibuprofen Aurovitas is contraindicated in children under 12 years of age.

• Warnings and precautions

Before taking Ibuprofen Aurovitas, talk to your doctor:

– if you have systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) or mixed connective tissue disease

– if you have a hereditary disorder of the red blood pigment – haemoglobin (porphyria)

– if you have chronic inflammatory bowel diseases such as inflammation of the colon with ulceration (ulcerative colitis), inflammation of the digestive tract (Crohn’s disease) or other stomach and intestinal diseases

– if you have disorders in the formation of blood cells

– if you have a problem with the normal blood clotting mechanism

– if you have allergies, hay fever, asthma, chronic swelling of the nasal mucosa, sinuses, tonsils or chronic obstructive airway disease, because the risk of developing narrowing of the airways with breathing difficulties (bronchospasm) is higher

– if you have liver problems, kidneys, heart

– if you have just had a major surgical procedure

– if you are in the first six months of pregnancy

– if you are breast-feeding

– if you have an infection – see “Infections” below.
