Areas of application
The medicine contains the active substance loperamide hydrochloride. Loperamide hydrochloride is an antidiarrheal agent.
For the symptomatic treatment of acute diarrhea in adolescents over 12 years of age and adults in the absence of etiotropic therapy.
Treatment with loperamide for more than 2 days can only be carried out as prescribed by a doctor and under supervision.

Dosage
Always take this medicine exactly as described, or exactly as your doctor or pharmacist has told you. If you are not sure, check with your doctor or pharmacist.
The recommended dose is:
Young people aged 12 years and over
First dose: 1 orodispersible tablet (= 2 mg loperamide hydrochloride).
Repeat dose: 1 orodispersible tablet (= 2 mg loperamide hydrochloride).
Maximum daily dose: 4 orodispersible tablets (= 8 mg loperamide hydrochloride).
Adult
First dose: 2 orodispersible tablets (= 4 mg loperamide hydrochloride).
Repeat dose: 1 orodispersible tablet (= 2 mg loperamide hydrochloride).
Maximum daily dose: 6 orodispersible tablets (= 12 mg loperamide hydrochloride).
The first dose is taken at the beginning of the treatment of acute diarrhoea. A repeat dose should be taken after each loose stool. The recommended maximum daily dose should not be exceeded.
Children under 12 years
The medicine is not suitable for children under 12 years of age due to the high content of the active substance. Other dosage forms are available for this purpose upon doctor’s prescription.
Duration of use:
Do not take the medicine for more than 2 days without consulting a doctor.
If diarrhea persists after 2 days of treatment, stop taking the medicine and consult a doctor.
Treatment with drugs containing loperamide for more than 2 days can only be carried out upon doctor’s prescription and under supervision.

Contraindications
The medicine should not be taken
if you are allergic to loperamide hydrochloride or any other ingredients of this medicine.
children under 12 years of age.
if you have conditions in which slowing down of bowel activity should be avoided, for example. B. Bloating, constipation and intestinal obstruction. If constipation, bloating or intestinal obstruction (ileus) occurs, the medicine should be stopped immediately.
if you suffer from diarrhea accompanied by fever and/or bloody stools.
if you suffer from diarrhea that occurs during or after taking antibiotics.
if you suffer from chronic diarrheal diseases. (These diseases can only be treated with loperamide hydrochloride as prescribed by a doctor.)
if you suffer from an acute attack of ulcerative colitis (ulcerative inflammation of the colon).”
