Oil obtained from the seeds of black cumin ( Nigella sativa ), also known as Egyptian black cumin, is a cold-pressed oil with a characteristic taste and smell. It should not be used for frying or heating dishes, it is excellent for cold dishes. It is characterized by a high content of unsaturated fats, including omega-6 acids, which support normal blood cholesterol levels. The beneficial effect is achieved when consuming 10 g of LA per day. Replacing saturated fats with unsaturated fats in the diet helps maintain normal blood cholesterol levels [mono- and polyunsaturated fatty acids are unsaturated fats].
