Ambroxol hydrochloride
The active substance of Mucosolvan is ambroxol , an expectorant with mucolytic properties. It increases the amount of bronchial secretion and reduces its viscosity. Additionally, it increases the frequency of respiratory epithelial cilia, which accelerates transport and mucociliary clearance. It stimulates the secretion of surfactant, which supports the proper functioning of the lungs. All these actions facilitate expectoration of retained secretion, which helps to clear the respiratory tract and relieve a troublesome cough.
Preparation intended for adults.
