1. What is No-Spa Max and what is it used for?
No-Spa Max is an antispasmodic drug that reduces pain (painful spasms) in the abdominal organs and pelvis, i.e. in the digestive tract (stomach and intestines), bile and urinary tracts, and in women also the reproductive tract.
No-Spa Max contains drotaverine hydrochloride as an active substance. This substance is used in the contraction of smooth muscles of both nervous and muscular origin, most often manifested by pain in the abdominal cavity. The antispasmodic effect of drotaverine does not depend on the type of innervation and the location of smooth muscles (gastrointestinal tract, genitourinary system, circulatory system and bile ducts).
The drug is metabolized in the liver, excreted mainly in the urine and to a lesser extent through the digestive tract.
The drug No-Spa Max is used:
– in spasmodic conditions of smooth muscles associated with biliary tract diseases: cholelithiasis, cholecystitis, pericholecystitis, cholangitis, inflammation of the ampulla of Vater
– in spasmodic conditions of smooth muscles of the urinary tract: nephrolithiasis, ureteral stones, pyelitis, cystitis, painful urinary urge and as a supportive treatment:
– in spasmodic conditions of smooth muscles of the digestive tract: gastric and duodenal ulcer, gastritis, enteritis, colitis, spasmodic conditions of the gastric cardia and pylorus, irritable bowel syndrome
, spastic constipation and intestinal flatulence, pancreatitis
– in gynecological conditions: painful menstruation.
