Victoza 6mg/ml solution for injection in a prefilled pen, 2x3ml , Novo Nordisk Pharma GmbH
Indication
The medicine contains the active ingredient liraglutide. It helps your body to lower blood sugar levels when they are too high. The medicine also slows down the passage of food through your stomach and can help prevent heart disease.
It is used alone when your blood sugar levels are not adequately controlled by diet and exercise alone and when you cannot use metformin (another antidiabetic medicine).
It is used together with other medicines to treat diabetes when these are not enough to control your blood sugar levels. These may include:
Oral antidiabetics (such as metformin, pioglitazone, sulfonylurea, sodium-glucose cotransporter 2 inhibitor (SGLT2i)) and/or insulin.
Contraindication
The medicine must not be used
if you are allergic to liraglutide or any of the other ingredients of this medicine.
Dosage
Always use this medicine exactly as your doctor has told you. If you are not sure, check with your doctor, pharmacist or nurse.

Your doctor may direct you to further increase the dose to 1.8 mg once daily if a dose of 1.2 mg does not provide sufficient control of blood sugar levels.
Do not change your dose unless your doctor tells you to.
